Trip to LA - Day 2 - Oy! Did We Eat

We had an incredibly fun and busy day. We started out with breakfast at All Day Baby, a hip new place on Sunset in Silver Lake.

Oops did you forget your credit card? Yup.

After breakfast, we headed off to a newish mall in renovated industrial space, The Row DTLA. We ran smack into Tartine (yes, same place from San Francisco). It was important that we have dessert after breakfast.

Having eaten breakfast and dessert, Peg and Bill tried to shop at a sample sale but it was too much of a zoo. We explored the mall a little.

Peg wanted to get a v-steam. I wanted a blood facial. Bill wanted to go, so we moved on.

Next, we started off on foot toward the fashion district. On the way, we passed a section I'll call the Piñata District. Store after store of Pinatas, candy and Mexican party paraphernalia. I should have gotten a picture.

We passed through the Flower District

And then, the Fashion district. Fun walking down Santee Alley. Store after store of cheap sunglasses, leggings, suits, et al. We stopped in a cool rave clothing store.

After all that walking, we were starving again. Next stop, Sonoratown. Some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. Warning - lard in the tortillas! The 30 minute wait was worth it.

Still walking, we met up with Peg's friend Elitia at the Grand Central Market for a beer.

Still walking, we went to Grand Park. There was a Christian Concert going on. I enjoyed the singing. I did not like being subtly proselytized.

Further up in the  Park was a light show

There was a fountain that spouted water intermittently. Peg, Bill and Elitia got out in the middle and then tried to run out before the next eruption.

They almost made it.

Holy crap, It got dark! We said goodbye to Elitia and got the car. Famished, we decided to have sushi at Sushi Gen near Little Tokyo.

On the ride home, Peg said she felt like a little "toro"  (fatty tuna).

What a great day. We walked almost 8 miles!

I'm stuffed.

I'm really tired. Please wake me in April. Good night. Winter hibernation starts now.
