Mount Vision Morning

Beth and I went on a long hike this morning. From Maggies Farm to the top of Mt. Vision and back. 7.62 miles round trip. Foggy and cold when we started. We are so lucky. The magic of Pt. Reyes right outside our front door.

There is an FCC communications facility at the peak that reminds me of something from a science fiction movie. Look carefully in the background.

We meditated for 15 minutes on a bench overlooking Drakes Bay and the Estero (on a clear day). The time flew by. So quiet and still. Listening to birds, insects and the wind. The coast fogged in, but we were above the clouds.

Passed a bucolic pond.

The Tomales Bay side cleared on the way down.

Spent the afternoon napping and doing a little gardening. Made stir fried veggies for dinner with a delicious bottle of Portuguese Douro wine which was a present from my brother in law Jason.

Another long hike tomorrow. Camino prep. I feel like I could walk it tomorrow. Not sure about Beth.

Winter Hibernation

I'm really tired. Please wake me in April. Good night. Winter hibernation starts now.
